I Love ALICE

here are some concept sketches, and some more photos from the new alice and wonderland tim burton cinema extravaganza. that man is a genius, his sketches are so simple, but so stylized and detailed. i love the sketch of the Red Queen, i can see exactly how they reached the final product. i also love the shot of the caterpillar. this is the first real shot of him i have seen, and i think he looks just delightful and so full of life. i am just gonna let the pictures do the talking :)

i think Timmy has another classic on his hand!

I Love MAD MEN!

there is so much that i love about "Mad Men" that i can't even put it all into words. Christina Hendrix, is gorgeous and Brilliant as kick ass head secretary joan (she really is my favorite part of the entire show). My real love for "Mad Men" though comes from my deep deep love for all things 60's. the hair, the clothes, the style, the attitude, the furniture, i love it all. it just has such a total elegance to it that know other era can begin to compete with. the sixties was a time when people really took pride in the way they looked. Men shaved every day, and wore a suit and a tie to work. they would never be caught in a pair of jeans and a t shirt, being stylish meant looking polished. Women did their hair, and tried to look meticulous, and effortless all at the same time. there was a certain sense of pride in the home, and the idea of dinner parties, and social gatherings were done with a grace, and class. if you bought something that was expensive, it meant that it was well made, and valuable. things used to be focused on being stylish and classic, not trendy or of the moment. the sixties weren't about fads, they were about change and innovation. In honor of my love for the sixties, i am going to try and incorporate a little mad men style into my everyday life.

season three needs to come out on DVD really soon. if you haven't seen it yet, now is the time to get caught up :)

Tell me what you want, what you really REALLY want!

Do you remember the Spice Girls, the real question is have you ever forgotten them. how could you? with all the joy they brought you, platform sneaks, sparkly baby doll dresses, all that zigga zig ahh they did. Well because musicals of jute are so popular, a musical theatre extravaganza based on the Spice Girls and their music is being created by Mamma Mia! producer Judy Craymer, plans are to mount a production on the West End, with broadway plans to follow shortly.

American Idol producer and former Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller (who if you ask me needs to team up with disney and just take over the world) has announced the collaboration. the musical is tentatively being called Viva Forever (one of the singles off of their 1998 album)

Our ladies dominated the pop charts for all of the 90's with their catchy diddys, glamtastic costumes, and girl power anthems

Craymer hopes to do with the Spice Girls' repertoire what she did with Abba's hits for Mamma Mia! — string together a group of songs with a story line and create a worldwide theatre hit. She has said, "I want to create a unique celebration of the band and its music, with its own flavour and joyful message. It is important to me that the excitement, style and humour of the Spice Girls is well represented on stage."

Judy Craymer produced both the stage and screen versions of Mamma Mia (so we know it will be campy and sparkly, and words strung together that kind of resemble a plot, but not really... we know better!) She will work with Fuller to create the West End Spice Girls production. She has said that it may take anywhere from two to three years to mount the production... and that is totally ok by me, take your time and make it great.

can i see it yet?!?!

Happiness is...

This Dress! Isac Mizrahi designed this for a charity auction, and i think it is absolutely amahhzing! for those of you who know me, you know that three of my favorite things are Charlie Brown, sequins, and super models. i love anytime someone takes something that is a standard or a classic, and just totally makes it their own.

kudos Isac, this almost makes up for you being in the Fashion Show (because you could honestly even think you could replace Heidi AND Tim, i don't think so.)
